A gummy smile can happen when the upper lip lifts higher than desired when smiling, showing more gum tissue. In carefully selected cases, Botox® & Dysport® can relax the muscles that elevate the upper lip for a softer, more balanced smile. At Pure MedSpa in Woodinville, we dose gummy smile treatments conservatively, since small changes around the mouth can make a noticeable difference. It's not for everyone, though: pregnancy and breastfeeding, a known allergy to botulinum toxin, and neuromuscular conditions like myasthenia gravis all rule it out. Your provider checks for these at consultation before treating.
